Chiya Li
President
Digital Paws Inc.

Chiya Li co-founded Digital Paws Inc. in 1996. With a post-graduate diploma in Internet Management from Humber College's School of Media Studies, she has more than a decade of experience in website development.

Under Chiya's strategic direction, Digital Paws has carved a niche -- focusing on educational institutions, the health sector, non-profit organizations and small businesses.

Chiya's specialties include project management, website architecture, design and implementation, graphics creation and manipulation, Flash animation, HTML, Javascript, and cascading style sheets (CSS) authoring.

In addition to being a savvy website developer, Chiya is a certified sommelier and a successful microstock photographer (a sample of her photographic work maybe viewed at www.chiya.ca). She established Madame Sommelier in 2004, a division of Digital Paws Inc., to promote wine appreciation through education.


Adam Iles
Software Developer and Technical Support
Digital Paws Inc.

Adam Iles is the co-founder of Digital Paws Inc. He holds a computer science degree from the University of Toronto. He had worked for more than 10 years as a systems administrator for Computing in the Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS) at the University of Toronto before embarking on his own venture as a software developer. Working closely with Northport Systems, Inc., since its inception in 1995, Adam has been one of the key players in the development and continued enhancement of FUGAWI, a brand of navigation and mapping software products, distributed in over 130 countries.

Adam is also in charge of the day-to-day technical support for Digital Paws, and is responsible for maintaining the network, server and hardware. His extensive computer knowledge and experience have made him an invaluable member of the Digital Paws' team.


Ron Miller P. Eng.
Programmer
Partner, R2 Computer Consultants

Ron is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. Since 1986, he has been a partner in R2 Computer Consultants. Ron has over 20 years of programming experience, eight of those in website development with a special focus on back-end applications, security and server environments. He has developed website services single-handedly as well as in collaboration with associates for more complex projects.

His specialties include: website service specification, design and implementation, program development in C, C++ or Perl, server specification and administration, and firewalls. He uses XML, HTML, Javascript, and cascading style sheets (CSS) to gather and present information as an integrated function of a website. He primarily uses the Apache web server running on Linux or Solaris.

Ron uses Open Source Software whenever possible. He gently modifies components and knits them together to efficiently form a cohesive solution.


Jim Nielson
Website Developer
One Step Solutions

Jim Nielson has been working in Internet-related roles since 1995 and is currently a kind of "Swiss Army Knife" of the Web. Until 2001, he worked for Sympatico, where he wore a variety of hats, including programmer, project manager, writer/editor, producer, and home page editor. Since he went independent he has worked as a graphic designer, copywriter, technical writer, editor, Flash programmer, WordPress hacker, and DHTML/CSS authoring
guru.

On his own or through others Jim has worked on sites for Bell Canada, Sympatico, the CBC, TV Ontario, Ryerson University, York University, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Toronto Public Library, Scotiabank, the TTC, Humber College, and Toyota Lexus, as well as single-handedly designing and building small- and medium-business sites for writers, musicians, and small commercial concerns.

Jim is fluent in French, and once co-translated a book by the philosopher Michel Serres. During a former life, he has a PhD in English and taught Renaissance literature, literary theory, and writing at McGill and the University of British Columbia.


Peter Perko
Graphic Designer, R.G.D.
Eye Cue Design Communications

Peter established Eye Cue Design Communications in 1996, specializing in creative services ranging from graphic design/communications and copywriting/creative concept development to web design, digital imaging, printing and related services.

Peter specializes in working with public sector clients, including all three levels of government, corporate communications/marketing, the arts and education, in addition to private sector clients. Previously he was employed full-time for over 13 years with Humber College's corporate communications and marketing department, and was also a part-time professor in the School of Media Studies.

Besides Peter's award-winning design work, he illustrated two books for children in 1995 and 1997 and has been exploring the area of digital fine art, exhibiting in a number of shows across Central and Southern Ontario. Peter is a graduate of Sheridan College's Illustration (Graphic Design) Program.
